Autumn in a Mug (An Ode to Kansas)
Apparently this is what Jessica calls an “oldie but a goodie.”
Let’s witch it up, shall we?
Ingredients
1 packet chai tea
1 part apple cider or unfiltered apple juice
You will need:
1 cup
1 small saucepan
Heat your apple juice/cider in a small saucepan until just before boiling, turn off heat, steep chai tea packet for 5 minutes then remove. Pour into mug and enjoy. Or don’t. I’m not your mother.
You can also make a chilled version using 1 part chai concentrate 2 parts apple juice.
Chai is just another word for tea. I wish you non-magic mortals would stop trying to make things more “interesting” by stealing words from other languages. You want spice? Learn how to eat a pepper. - Lurline
Jessi’s Favorite Drink
Carbonation is a heck of a thing. But you know, I can make some things explode on my own, so, your bubbles aren’t impressive.
Ingredients
1 part bubble water
2 parts guava juice
You will need:
a cup
Fill the glass about 1/2 way with guava juice. Add your choice of sparkling water, Jessi uses “Trader Joe’s” sparkling starfruit, but any bubble water will do.
Yeah, I’m not drinking this.

Emerald City Lemonade
They used to sell this outside the dorms. I miss it.
Ingredients
1/2 lemon
1 squeeze of a lime
2 green apples, cored and chopped
simple syrup (cup of sugar and hot water, mixed)
Just extrude all the juices with a pressure spell, or a juicer if you’re boring, Mix all these together, add more or less water depending on personal taste. Bubble water or a clear soda is also fun to mix with this, if that’s your thing.
Kick in the Throat Tea
This is a version of the tea I made Polychrome, without the magic. It may not cure what ails you but…probably won’t hurt.
Ingredients:
1 tea bag of your choice (Jessi uses Yerba matte)
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1 pinch ceyenne pepper
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon honey
1 pinch bee pollen
You will need:
1 mug
boiling water
Make the tea kind of strong, while it is hot mix in the honey until it dissolves, add the lemon juice, the cayenne pepper, the bee pollen and the ginger and mix well. Mix occasionally while drinking to ensure it doesn’t all settle at the bottom.
